Strengthening research, development and the transfer of knowledge is one of the policy-making objectives the University Board of the HTW Berlin has set for itself. To accomplish this goal, a number of activities have been tackled that go beyond the typical standard at universities of applied science.
The following pages provide a presentation of these activities, which range from research projects, competence centres and the HTW’s cooperative institutes, to scholarly publications.
By strengthening research, development and the transfer of knowledge, the HTW not only contributes to the innovative power of regional commerce, but also to the quality assurance of studies and teaching, as research and development also serve the purpose of further educating teachers themselves and keeping their skills sharpened.
