Umberto Competence Centre

The Umberto Competence Centre (UCC) is operated by the HTW and ifu Hamburg GmbH. Specialised support is provided by the Corporate Environmental Information Technology study programme, which uses software from Umberto both in teaching and in projects for applied research and development. The software tool, which is held as a European market leader, makes it possible to model, calculate and visualise material and energy flows.

Activities at the Competence Centre

  • Software-technical development of prototypes and supplementary modules (plug-ins, macros) in Umberto’s surrounding field
  • Use of Umberto in teaching, as well as training and advanced training at the FHTW
  • Use of Umberto within the scope of R&D projects
  • Use of Umberto within the scope of German “Diplom”, Master’s and Bachelor’s final theses
  • Application of Umberto in practice-oriented projects with industrial partners
  • Publication of scholarly and practice-oriented works
  • Establishment and advancement of thematically related networks
