Competence Centres
-
Our Advantage: Interdisciplinarity
There are a number of interdisciplinary competence centres at the HTW. They were established in order to bundle the research and development capacities of various departments and study programmes.
The spectrum ranges from a team in the area of facility management, to expertise in the research area of fiscal law and a research group that focuses on e-learning.
Competence centres can have any number of university members. They have their own small budgets that make it possible to develop collaborative projects, which also denote a prerequisite for acquiring third-party funding.
At the HTW, the Academic Senate’s Commission on Research and Young Scientists ("FNK") makes all decisions regarding the establishment of competence centres.
