Study Programme/University Transfers

Please be aware that students with a residence permit may only change their study programme once and with approval from the "Ausländerbehörde" (foreigners office), and must provide verification of their study progress to the foreigners office!

If you are currently enrolled at another university in Germany and want to transfer to HTW Berlin, you must also apply via uni-assist, if you completed your previous education outside of Germany. Please find all information on our homepage at:

When submitting your application documents, you must also submit complete documentation about all your previous studies at other German universities. This documentation contains an up-to-date grade transcript which must show all examinations you passed, failed and registered for, a short descriptions of the contents of all courses listed on the grade transcript (e.g. description of the course of study from your old lecture directory) and the credit points and a proof of all full study semesters . If you have not yet passed, failed or registered for any examinations and did not yet obtain any study credits at all, you must submit a written confirmation about this fact from your previous university. This is required for all your previous enrolments at other German universities irrespective of whether the study programmes you were enroled in are related to the programme you want to apply for at HTW Berlin.

If you fail to submit complete documentation about any and all previous enrolments within the official application periods, you will be excluded from the admission procedure.

If you are already a registered student at HTW Berlin and want to change your study programme within HTW Berlin, you do not have to apply via uni-assist. Instead, you can fill in an online application directly on our homepage and submit your required paper documents directly to HTW Berlin. Both must be done within the official application periods.
