Aptitude Tests

General Information
You must file a separate application for the aptitude test – please check the deadlines and information on this below!
In order to be admitted to the corresponding study programme, you must
- successfully go through the aptitude assessment process and
- have already completed the required minimum duration of practical training (pre-study internship or a corresponding apprenticeship) and
- filed your application online within the cut-off period (15 Jan. or 15 July) and
- submit proof of the passed aptitude test together with all other necessary application documents (see the section on Bachelor’s degree and German “Diplom” Programmes) to the “Referat Zulassung und Immatrikulation” (office of admissions and enrolment) within the cut-off period (15 Jan. or 15 July).

Fashion Design
First Step: Registration required!
Please submit the application for admission to the aptitude test at the Department Design and Arts.
Second Step: Homework!
On the last Monday in March the study programme publishes on its website
the task of the homework. Four weeks after the publication of the task - late April / early May - you need to post or hand in, your portfolio together with your name/address and a written statement about the authorship, at the Department Design and Arts. The exact time and address will be published with the task of the homework.
Third Step: Aptitude Test!
One day after handing in the homework the university will placard, whether you will be invited for the aptitude test and when you get an appointment. At the aptitude test you must submit your portfolio and take part in an interview. Detailed explanations can be found in the Information for Prospective Students

Aptitude test for the winter term
Dates and deadlines:
First Step: Homework
On the last Monday in February the study programme will announce on its website the subject and tasks of the homework that you will have to prepare. The work samples have to be submitted to the department of the study programme in a file or portfolio with your name and address (as well as e-mail address if you want to be notified by e-mail) and together with a written copyright declaration confirming that you are the sole author of the homework. The deadline for the submission of the homework will be announced at the website of the study programme. The exact details regarding time and room number will be delivered together with the announcement of the subject of the homework.
Second Step: Aptitude test
At a date that will be announced in time you will be informed by a notice posted on the campus of whether or not you passed the homework and are allowed to do the aptitude test. You will also be informed of the date of your aptitude test. At the aptitude test, you will present your work samples and will undergo an interview. Detailled information can be taken from the homepage of the study programme.
